Women still considered a taboo?

Is the Indian women still considered to be a taboo in the society? If no then why is it that more than 50% of them are still living a life full of fear, shame, misery and punishment. Where on one hand we claim that women should be worshiped there on other hand we torture them.

Sati is still practiced. Child marriage is still happening. Rapes are an everyday thing. Domestic violence is the number one crime in India. Everything against them. It is just the handful who have made a mark for themselves in the society as a strong person.

We are nobody but hypocrites as we break our own rules for our selfish reasons. We pray to Goddess for power, love and money and we insult their form on this planet. I thing that women has for too long acted with patience accepting even the cruelest blows. It is now time that they show their other face, the face of DURGA.
